Meghan Hickey was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in Wisconsin. She received an A.B. in Religion from Princeton University and an M.A. in Creative Writing with a concentration in poetry from Boston University.

Meghan’s poetry has appeared in Bellevue Literary Review, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, The Cream City Review, Ebb:Flo (forthcoming), Harvard Review, Karamu, The Larcom Review, Nebulosi, Poetry, Porcupine Literary Arts Magazine, The Saint Ann’s Review, Salt Hill (forthcoming), and Seeding the Snow. Her work has appeared in two books by Berlin-based artist Jens Hanke—Sequence (correspondence) and Architecture of Mind (poetry).

She has studied with Steven Wright, Pinckney Benedict, Joyce Carol Oates, Russell Banks, Toni Morrison, Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer, Richard Danielpour, Elaine Pagels, Peter Brown, Sterling Plumpp, Michael Anania, Robert Pinsky, Derek Walcott, David Ferry, Aaron Fogel, Elie Wiesel, and Rachel Hadas.

She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
